Quote of the Day is a simple application that, when opened, display a short quote or other interesting piece of information; it (or an alias) is intended to be placed in your Startup Items folder so that it opens whenever you start up your Mac.
Quote of the Day will automatically quit (if you do not do so manually by command-Q or the “Quit” button) after about thirty seconds so that it doesn't hold up the start-up process if you are away from the compter.
This app is free, unless you really think you'd like to give something for it, in which case you are most welcome :). If you do like it, or have any comments or suggestions, please tell me via one of the addresses below and I’ll make sure you’re informed of updates and new versions. If you do this I’ll also email you a simple Quote Editor to edit and add to Quote of the Days’s quote list. (It’s actually not hard to do this usuing ResEdit™ or similar, but if you don’t feel comfortable with ResEdit or would like a more elegant way, then the Quote Editor will help.)
However, please don’t distribute your own modified versions— if you have some quotes which you would like added to the standard version, please email me!
